Brief History of NOWSI and its Relationship to the Strawberry Green Driving Range, est. in 1954 as a premier Golf Practice Range for the community, located in Fairmount Park, at 33rd and Oxford Street, Philadelphia, PA. The Natural Organized Woman Society, Incorporated (NOWSI), originally formed as The Natural Organized Woman Sorority, was established in 2006, with the vision of health and wellness empowering and uplifting underserved women through various programs and initiatives for matters of the heart, strokes and cardiovascular disease. Over the years, NOWSI has evolved to focus on a broader spectrum of support, education, and empowerment, emphasizing community engagement and development. In 2023, NOWSI expanded its outreach by becoming the concession owner of Strawberry Green Driving Range. Diversity Through Golf.

NOWSI is passionate about golf because it provides a unique platform for empowerment, skill development, and community building. Golf teaches discipline, focus, and resilience, aligning with our mission to uplift underserved women and at-risk youth. Through golf, we offer health and wellness benefits, mentorship opportunities, and educational programs, fostering personal growth and creating positive life trajectories for our participants. Golf is more than a sport; it’s a promoter for a complete development and change. Colleges and Universities has golf scholarships that are not being used. NOWSI is preparing those who want a path to further education through golf.
